{How long should I wait to get another kitten if I just had a kitten that contracted FIP?}

§2179 · October 26, 2011 · cat · 7 comments

I had a kitten that had to be put to sleep because he contracted Feline Infectious Peritonitis. I’d like to get another kitten but I’ve gotten 3 different waiting periods from vets. One vet said 30 days, the second vet said 6 months and another said 1 year. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated.

{How do I get kittens to accept another kitten?}

§2058 · August 25, 2011 · cat · 8 comments

A few months ago I found 2 kittens in my grandmothers backyard & ever since I’ve been feeding ‘em & they’ve pretty much made the back yard their home. The other day I found another kitten back there & for some reason they dont like him. Every time the kitten runs up to play with ‘em they’ll hiss, how can I get the 2 kittens to accept the new kitten? or should I just leave things the way they are? & What are some possible reasons as to why the kittens don’t like the new kitten?

{Will a cat with a chronic upper respitory infection give their illness to another cat?}

§63 · May 12, 2010 · cat · 7 comments

My family adopted a cat about two years ago. She has a chronic upper respitory infection. We are considering getting a second cat, but we are worried that the new cat will catch our old cat’s illness?
